Police seek tips in February homicide

first_imgThe investigation into the February beating death of an 83-year-old security guard in Vancouver remains ongoing, and there’s a $2,500 reward for information that will help solve the killing.Benjamin O. Lyons was found dead in the early morning of Feb. 26 in the 2800 block of Southeast Columbia Way. He worked for KnightHawk Protection, a private security firm, for one of the businesses in the area.Staff said Lyons checked in at 11:30 p.m., and his body was found about a half-hour later.The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office determined he died of multiple sharp and blunt force injuries.The Vancouver Police Department, with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is offering the reward. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information, reported through Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime.Crime Stoppers said information gleaned from social media sites is welcome.Tipsters can call 503-823-HELP with useful information.
