Nokia 1 Plus Android Go smartphone launched with 18:9 display, Android Pie

first_imgHMD Global launched the Nokia 1 Plus at MWC in Barcelona on Sunday. This is the company’s newest Android Go device and a bigger, updated version of last year’s Nokia 1. The Nokia 1 Plus touts a larger 18:9 display and a polycarbonate unibody textured design along with the latest Android Pie (Go edition). The Nokia 1 has been the best-selling Android Go smartphone last year, and the company will hope to maintain the pace with the Nokia 1 Plus this year.Nokia 1 Plus price and availabilityThe Nokia 1 Plus has a Global Average Price of USD 99 (approx Rs 7,000). This is for the base model that comes with 8GB of internal storage. It gets a taller display with an 18:9 aspect ratio compared to the pebble-shaped Nokia 1. The Nokia 1 Plus sports a 5.45-inch FWVGA+ IPS screen on the front, and a polycarbonate rear panel that offers a unique new 3D nano coated texture.As an Android Go device, the Nokia 1 Plus offers 1GB of RAM, but HMD is now offering two storage options – 8GB and 16GB. The Nokia 1 Plus ships with the latest Android Pie (Go edition) software, which offers faster load time and better optimisation. It comes pre-loaded with Google’s suite of Go apps designed for Android Go. This means Google Go, Gmail Go, YouTube Go, Maps Go and so come pre-installed and are optimised to take up little memory and storage.The Nokia 1 Plus is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MT6739WW chipset, an 8MP rear camera with flash, 5MP front-facing camera and a 2,500mAh battery.
