iPhone-like Oppo R9’s fingerprint scanner to unlock in 0.2 seconds

first_imgChinese company Oppo has claimed that its upcoming phone R9’s fingerprint scanner will be capable of unlocking the phone in just 0.2 seconds. Earlier, it had hinted that the phone would be ideal for making mobile payments although it’s not clear whether it would be launching its own payments service. The R9 is expected to be launched by the company on March 17, and if images (of the phone) from Chinese certification website TENAA are to be gone by then it could look a lot like the iPhone. Not long ago, HTC had brought out a phone (the One A9) that oddly resembled the iPhone 6. Looks like Oppo is apparently following suit. In fact, images leaked on TENAA suggest that the R9 looks closer to an iPhone 6 than HTC’s offering.Oppo’s R9 is said to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen.  It will be powered by a 1.95 GHz octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable). The dualSIM phone will run Android 5.1 Lollipop and sport 16-megapixel cameras on the front and back. It will be backed by a 2,850 mAh battery. At the same time, rumour has it that Oppo may launch a plus-sized variant of the R9, tipped to be called the R9 Plus. It is said to have a 6-inch 1080p AMOLED display and a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory (expandable). It is also said to sport a 16-megapixel camera on the rear and front. It will use a 4,120 mAh battery.advertisementlast_img
