But she bounced back to shoot a career-best 78 in the Northern Divisional team qualifier at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard, where she was one of just 14 players in a field of 119 to break 80 and finished tied for ninth overall. A state high jump qualifier in track and field as a sophomore, the athletic Erdman got a late start in golf but progressed rapidly. She stepped up as Quartz Hill’s leader this season when two-time Southern Section finalist Dani O’Neil elected not to play high school golf her junior year. Erdman led the Rebels to a 12-0 league record and 17-3 overall mark. Erdman, a former gymnast who carries a 4.37 grade-point average, has a career-best high jump of 5 feet, 6 inches, and she also has cleared 10-6 in the pole vault. _ Dave Shelburne DAILY NEWS ALL-ANTELOPE VALLEY Katelin Dilger, Soph., Quartz Hill Amber Frauhiger, Soph., Lancaster Ayla Friga, Jr., Quartz Hill Ellen Harris, Jr., Lancaster Melissa Higgins, Jr., Lancaster Chelsie Martinez, Sr., Quartz Hill 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
