Right-hander Jacob Barnes easily retired the first three hitters he faced in his inning, including strikeouts of Jo Adell and Brandon Marsh. Barnes stuck around for one more hitter, and he gave up a homer to Arismendy Alcantara.Prospect Jose Rodriguez started and worked the first three innings against the Angels everyday lineup, allowing just one run.
