Cambridgeshire County Council has employed 11 new trainees on its graduatedevelopment programme. The trainees (right), who were among 566 initial applicants, will take partin a variety of projects around the council as well as working towardsappropriate professional qualifications to help fast-track them into managementpositions. The council’s director of resources Mike Parsons said: “This scheme isvery important to Cambridgeshire County Council and helps ensure we have acontinuous supply of first-class managers with the personal attributes andprofessional qualifications to cope with the ever more complex and changingresponsibilities of local government.” The scheme has been running for two years for accountancy trainees, but wasexpanded two years ago to include HR, general management, IT, property andplanning qualifications. www.cambridgeshire.gov.uklast_img
